Error Correction Training is designed to provide participants with the tools and documentation necessary to effectively identify, analyze, and correct errors/fatal flaws.

Course Description:
This specialized training course is designed to meet the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements for correcting error(s) in which a test was cancelled in drug and alcohol testing procedures within 49 CFR Part 40. Participants will gain a thorough understanding of DOT regulations related to the collection error(s) and how to identify, report, and correct inaccuracies or discrepancies in drug and alcohol testing processes.

The course covers all necessary steps for compliance, including addressing the error(s) in test administration, documentation, chain-of-custody procedures, and result reporting. Through a combination of practical scenarios, case studies, and hands-on exercises, participants will develop the skills to effectively manage and resolve testing errors to maintain regulatory compliance and uphold safety standards. Three required mocks will be performed. Two related to why the test was canceled and one uneventful collection.

  • Identifying common errors in the testing process (pre-test, during testing, and post-test)
  • Corrective action steps for various testing errors
  • Proper handling and documentation of test results and chain-of-custody forms

  • Preventative strategies to avoid future mistakes and maintain compliance
  • Three required mocks. Two related to why the test was canceled and one uneventful.
